PTA’s CORNER Nr. 3

November is the month our nation in mourning and bid final farewell to our beloved HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana.

HALLOWEEN:  Thanks to tremendous parents participation in dressing up their children combined with teacher’s awesome costumes, CIS campus became one big Halloween studio.  Well done parents! Let’s keep this momentum to the rest of activities till end of school year 2009.

LOY KRATHONG:  Another great achievement from all the parents.  Not only they maintained traditional gilding Thai costumes for the children, but also showed great awareness of environmental friendly krathongs (lanterns).   This year we had much more of such krathongs than last year.  PTA hopes next year they will all be 100% environmental friendly.

GO DRAGONS GO !!!   SPORT:   Congratulation to our boys and girls basketball teams.  Both teams played their home games with tremendous enthusiasm.  The games were seesawing from starting whistle till the end.  Let’s give the coach and the players a thumb up,
so as the parents and teachers who cheered till the final second.  This is another good example of parent support that also contributed to their wins.  GO DRAGONS GO !!!

The PTA would like to invite more parents to attend upcoming CIS’ sport events.  We should come and cheer “GO DRAGONS GO” and show Concordian as a good and supportive host.

We urgently need some volunteers to help and support the student council food & beverage stall  in front of the gym on those days. The Kids started to sell Snacks & Drinks at the Basketball event last week and it was a big success! Please sign up and help the Kids .

MEET & GREET:   “Help! How can I help motivate my child?”  That was the theme at PTA’s first Meet & Greet (unofficial) PTA gathering.  Specialists guests speakers, Mr. Doug and Ms. Linda, shared their expertise on the subject with the attending Parents. All together it was very interesting and helpful, thank you Mr. Doug & Ms. Linda.  We will print “Top 10 Ways to Motivate Gifted Children”, an article Mr. Doug brought in, as this month’s extra (Thai translation’s you’ll find on the PTA Website).
