PTA Corner 1st issue 09-10

The PTA says Welcome back to everybody, and a very warm welcome for all New Parents & Teachers. A fresh new year, some new rules, changes in the schools lay out, functions etc . . .
Exciting, sometimes confusing but overall leaping forward, improving, getting better.

We as a PTA are booting up to support the CIS community wherever we can and is needed; right now the focus is on Class Moms & Dad’s. We are very happy with Teachers feedback about Class Mom & Dad support last year this was very, very positive.

We are looking for some energetic Mom’s and Dad’s who would like to help out doing what we do as a PTA, don’t feel shy to pop by or give us a call, there’s a lot we can do to support our Kids and their beautiful School.

The PTA, What is it about . . .

  • Staff Appreciations: to thank teachers and general staff. Maybe once or twice a school year, where parents bring cakes, food, etc. for all the teachers and staff to share
  • CIS Party. An evening for parents and staff to enjoy together
  • The Sport Subcommittee. Enhances sport activities, after school
  • Foodcommittee
  • Newcomer’s team. Welcome families of all nationalities
  • Website and or Newsletter. Here you can give tips to parents: where to dine, shop, go to vacation, Health tips, activities for children, safety tips Participation in Events as Christmas and Sport day

 

Class Parents (Class-Mom/Dad)

An Class Mom/Dad is a volunteer parent who liaises between the class teacher and parents.
Different teachers will request different levels of support.
Generally the Class Parent:

  • Is the first point of contact when the class teacher requires assistance for reading, school trips, class parties, school productions, etc.
  • Co-ordinates parent volunteers for School Activities
  • Recruits parent help for school and PTA events
  • Greets any new parents whose children join the class during the academic year
  • Heads the Class Telephone List

 

The PTA invites Parents to invest some time in the Concordian community
